For the Pre-Professional phase of the 3+2 Master of 艺术 in Athletic Training program, undergraduate Carthage students will declare an 联合健康科学 主要. Allied health science provides an interdisciplinary and liberal arts foundation to recognize and understand key theories and concepts associated with health, 健康, 病理生理条件, preparing students for admission into the professional phase.

Students will obtain a fundamental understanding of basic sciences and scientific reasoning; demonstrate a broad understanding of anatomy and 生理学; present information in a clear, 逻辑, and critical presentation in both oral and written formats; and gain the foundational knowledge required to continue graduate-level studies.

The 专业阶段 occurs over summer, fall, J-Term, and spring. Students will receive a summer break from June through July and a winter break during the traditional December holiday break.

Students must provide proof of completion within the past five years, earning a letter grade of “C” or better, in the following courses: statistics, 运动机能学或生物力学, 运动生理学, human anatomy with lab (two courses), 生物学, 化学带实验(两门课程), 物理, 和心理学.

申请过程

Students seeking admission into the professional phase of the 3 + 2 program will submit a direct admission application by Sept. 15 verifying the completion of the program prerequisites. Students not fulfilling the criteria will collaborate with their advisors to complete the allied health science degree.

For students with a bachelor’s degree in a related field

Students with an earned bachelor’s degree in a related field can complete a Master of 艺术 in Athletic Training at Carthage. Following admission to the program, students will complete two years of graduate-level coursework.

Students applying to the two-year track must successfully complete the following courses with a minimum grade of “C”: anatomy, 运动机能学, 生理学, 化学, 物理, 心理学, 和统计数据.
